Don't know if anyone has had a similar problem?

I have been usinfg a ZWO EFW 7 postion filter wheel via The Sky X for a while now without issues, but recently reset to operate unidirectionally. All works fine with the exception that if I ask it to move 7 positions e.g. position 1 top 7 it will time out. There isn't a problem if I ask it to move a maximum of 6 positions e.g. position 1 to 6. Doesn't matter which filter combination, its just seems to be the time it takes to travel 7 positions is too long. Any ideas?

Not exactly similar, but I have an anomaly with one-way movement on my 7 hole 2" EFW.

When I move from hole 3 to hole 2, for example, mine would do a jiggle (some small back and forth movements) when it reaches hole 6. But unlike yours, it eventially continues on and end up at hole 2 after that jiggle.

Moving from hole 2 to hole 1 would produce a jiggle at hole 5, etc.

Have you checked the firmware version of your EFW?

Out of curiosity, I just tested the EFW again (connected to Mac and one of the ASIStudio suite).

Looks like the stutter only happens when trying to move 6 slots. It can go directly to a hole 5 slots away without any stop in between.

So, it is in a sense, more similar to your problem than I originally thought -- i.e., only a 6 hole movement causes a "problem."

Must be something that keeps them from reaching a destination that is more than 5 holes away. And the firmware version of mine could be a bug-fix version of what you have. It still won't get there non-stop, so it breaks the movement up into two, with a pit stop in between?

P.S., just tested a 7-hole 36mm ZWO wheel, and it does the same pit-stop thing when asked to move 6 holes.
