Crackling beep sound on Rockchip based Plus(es)

Hi everyone,

I've recently decided to get another Plus, got it in the mail and it is a Rockchip based one (as expected). Everything was fine, but the beep at startup was awufully distroted, I'd describe it as crackling (not an expert on the topic). Wrote to my reseller, sent it back for a replacement and the new one is making the same exact thing! I mean, one was ok, but two in a row is a bit suspicious. My Pi CM4 based one beeps wonderfully.

Anybody else has experienced this? @ASIAIR@ZWO is there anything I can do?

Spoke with Simon Lewis via email and he said it's fine, even his one does this. I frankly think it is unacceptable for the amount of money it is sold at, especially considering the CM4 based solution was behaving fine in this regard. Feels like cheaping out... This is really disappointing @ASIAIR@ZWO, at quiet volume it barely makes any sound, sometimes nothing at all.

Same issue on my Plus (Rockchip)... No explanation from ZWO for this problem?

Mine does it too and it does not affect anything. It just makes me question the quality of the unit as a whole…. Makes me crinnge like the sound. Has no effect on performance… just your senses!
