For the last few days I have been having serious issues trying to get my imaging system working. My initial set up was:
QHY10 imaging cam
ZWO 120MC guide cam
Toshiba Satellite laptop (AMD 2.2Ghz processor, 6GB RAm, 750 Gb HD, Win 7 Home Premium) running CduC, EQmod, Nebulosity 3 and PHD 2. Everything works fine until I start PHD and start looping images with the ZWO. Immediately Nebulosity locks up shortly followed by EQmod. More than once I have the BSOD which stated a USB issue. After hours of swapping things round and confirming everything works with a SX Lodestar, the conclusion is that the ZWO cam/driver is the cause of the problem. On my second laptop (HP 2.9GHz AMD processor, 4GB RAM, 600GB HD, Win 8) I get the device manager showing an alert against the USB controller hosting the ZWO (which is shown in the 'imaging devices' list) stating that resources could not be assigned to the camera. I have the latest drivers on both laptops. It makes no difference if I use pulse guiding through EQmod or use the ST4 interface, everything locks up.
I should also add that can never get frame rates that average better than about 10 when I use the full frame for solar imaging - way off the quoted 30 frames a second. What is going on? Is there a fix? At the moment I have a camera that is no use to me whatever.
I would appreciate any advice you have.
