Why does the camera show mono images only?

I have an ASI 120MC camera that shows mono images only. I tried using SharpCap and FireCapture selected RGB color space, different debayering methods, changing white balance settings etc. but the image remains monochrome. I even changed the USB cable. I tried another ASI120MC camera but that works flowlessly.

Could it be possible that it is some kind of a firmware error?

I took an image without debayering and saved in fit format. I hope this is fine.

this is a color camera

you can tell from the RGB grid

just enable debayer and you will see the color

No, it doesn't show colors. I selected different debayering methods, but the image remains monochrome. The best I can do is to change the shade of the image: instead of black and white the image can be "greenish" or "redish" if I change color balance.

it seems the R or B channel is too dark.

what is the white balance setting?

is it useless if turn the "WB" or "WR"?

I selected Debayering and GB or GR debayering pattern in FireCapture. If I played with the WRed and WBlue setting all I could do is to make image monochrome or greenish / reddish / bluish etc. Colours are totalling missing. See attached images.

If you think this could be fixed by reflashing firmware, please provide me instructions to do so. If this is a hardware error, please let me know and I'll return the camera to the supplyer.

can you take a picture of the sensor?

because the mono sensor and color sensor have different looking

so we can confirm that its a mistake or not

Attached please find a picture about the sensor. If this proves to be a mono sensor, could it be possible to reflash the camera with a mono firmare so that is recognized as ASI120MM?

yes, you can flash the firmware of ASI120MM to make it to be the real mono camera

don't forget to install the driver of ASI120MM

My camera seems to have the same issue. Mono video only, sensor looks like this.

I've installed the ASI120MM driver, but when I go to flash it with the ASI120MM firmware is says I've selected the wrong file as it's a ASI120MC camera.

Is there a way for me to force the camera to accept the mono firmware?

please don't flash the wrong file

you need to debayer the file to color
