The mount was off as I had not connected cables yet. In putting the rasa8 in place, the shoe the scope sits in turned on the dec axis a little bit. Not much, but I did notice it. I believe I told the mount to go Home when I turned it on, but now I am sitting here wondering if I tried to slew it a bit before telling it to go Home.
I know that if the mount is not in home position when you shut it down that you should return it to home as soon as you turn it back on.
It looks ok to me, but I am not sure how to know if anything is askew. Is there a way to test this? Or, even if it did slew a little before sending it home, would sending it home still fix things back to where they needed to be?
And finally, should I not put the scope in place until the mount is turned on?? It seems a bit easy for the dec axis to turn when putting a larger scope on . . . I had figured that the power failure fail safe would lock both axises in place when the mount is turned off.
