Yes. They work. Once the Ethernet dongle is connected, you will see Ethernet Settings pop up in between WiFi settings and Bluetooth Settings on the left side of iOS/iPadOS Settings.

Be sure to get a Gigabit dongle. It will show up on the iPad as "USB 10/100/1000 LAN." The cheap "$20" stuff only support 10/100 Ethernet. You will be severely limited if you limit the port to 100 Mbit/sec. The Belkin one (that is sold at Apple stores) can handle 480 Mbits/sec (limited by Lightning).

Just connect an Ethernet cable (at least Cat5e or better) between the ASIAIR and the iPad dongle, and the ASIAIR app should automatically connect to it. If not, use Connect Via IP in the ASIAIR app.

Thanks! You’re right. I purchased one of the $20 10/100’s. It doesn’t recognize it. I’ll spring for the Belkin.

If it is "Apple MFi Certified," that adapter should still work. Just slower, and not work at 1000 Mbits/sec; but should still work at 100 Mbits/sec.

Open iPadOS Settings.

Look at the left side. When the dongle is plugged in, you should see an Ethernet settings item appear between Wi-Fi settings and Bluetooth settings, like this:

If it not Apple MFi certified, it is probably never tested. Just return it to Amazon.

The Ethernet option did appear in my iPhone settings and I was able to enter the settings window but I was not able to make a connection within ASIAIR.

Be sure to give the ASIAIR app "Local Network" permission (check Google if you don't know what that is).
Connect all cables, and boot up the ASIAIR device, and only launch the ASIAIR app after you hear the beep from the device.
If you still cannot see the ASIAIR, try tapping the Scan button (each time waiting until it finishes scanning) repeatedly until the app finds the ASIAIR device. It could take more than a dozen tries. The ASIAIR network code must have been copied and pasted from somewhere else since it is highly unreliable. But you should eventually see the ASIAIR device. (Be sure to wait for the beep from the ASIAIR device first.)

It even happens on a iPad Pro using a USB-C gigabit Ethernet dongle.

Now, once you get in, go immediately to the ASIAIR Settings window (where the ASIAIR app shows networking info) and there is an item called "Wired Internet." Write down the IP address (for example, for one of of my dongles, it is 169.254.186.44). If the Scan fails in the future, use "Connect using IP" to connect to this IP address.

Remember that you should wait for the beep from the ASIAIR device before you launch the ASIAIR app.
