ZWO220 not connecting to Mac

I have an older Macbook and I cannot connect to PHD2 with a ZWO220 guide camera. I am not sure what to do. I see no Mac drivers or SDKs are available like they used to.

rchozick Try different USB cables and ports, then test it in our software to rule out the problem with the camera first.

If the camera works fine in ASIStudio, please check if you install the latest version PHD2, it maybe because the SDK file is not the latest version. you can download the SDK file here, and replace the ASICamera2.dll file in the PHD installation folder

It works on the ASI Studio software. My older Mac cannot download ASI Studio but I installed it on my other Mac and Studio sees it. I cannot get PHD2 to see it on either Mac. PHD uses .dylib files for the camera, not .dll I tried the .dylib files in the Mac Developer download and none worked. I see nowhere to put .dll files in PHD2.

rchozick Sorry. I just checked it, the SDK file is under contents-Frameworks-libASICamera2.dylib.
Need to change the newest version SDK file to the same name and replace it.

I noticed the Sky X also uses .dylib

I tried that and it did not work. I noticed the new libASICamera2.dylib file is only 24 bytes and is an alias. the old one was a much bigger file. Is there a full version somewhere?

rchozick There is a 5.2MB file named libASICamera2.dylib.1.29.
Change this file name and replace for the SDK file in the PHD2 installation folder

I am returning the camera to the store. This does not work on a Mac. Mac users should avoid the 220.

ZWO should make their cameras backward compatible with past SDKs. I have had to update my SDKs for a new camera and I have to create all new darks. for any images with the new cameras.

I have no issues with any other ZWO camera I have used. I have a 2600 and 178 now. I have had others also.

rchozick That is strange it does not work at your end, the camera works fine in PHD2 when I replace the SDK file.
Also, we are so sorry for the trouble, but I must clarify, the software recognizes and controls the camera via the driver and SDK file, We cannot know in the past what new cameras will be released in the future, what we can do are to update our software-ASIStudio and the SDK file on our official page in time, other software companies have their own period to update their software and our and other products' SDK file at the same time to support new products.
Replace the SDK file manually is just a temporary solution to solve this problem, or maybe you can contact the tech of PHD2 to inquiry how to make the new version sdk file work.
