Hello,
I am new to the owners club of the AM5. I could test it the other day, and first I got some OK RMS Numbers and after doing the guding assistant in PHD2, I got some good graphs. Good is, to be a bit more specific, RMS values of 0.6" in RA and 0.3 in DEC.
My settings: Exposure time 1s. aggressivness in RA at 70% in DEC at 100%.
What you can see very obvious in the guidegraph ist the periodic error of the mount, which can“t be completely smoothed out by PHD2.
So my next attempt would be to try the PPEC algorithm in PHD2 to see what this can do.
I also read already a bit here in the forum about different settings. As far as I understood, a smaller exposure time combined with lower aggressivness values and small max ra and max dec durations should help as well?
If you have some recommendations, it would be nice if you could reply to my post.
Cheers
Frank
