Foobaria When used with ASIAIR the Hand Controller is not needed but it is required to use with ASIAIR vis WIFI. Please add a feature so mount can turn on and turn and connect to WIFI and ASIAIR without the hand controller.
It may not be possible (i.e.,hardware instead of firmware issue).
If you have not yet noticed, the ZWO mounts are direct copycats of the RainbowAstro RST-135, but constructed with cheaper components. The WiFi (and GPS) radios for the RainbowAstro mounts are inside the RainbowAstro Hubo-i hand controller, not in the mount.
I suspect ZWO had copied this aspect of the RainbowAstro mount too, and only have a WiFi radio inside the hand controller, and not in the mount body.
If the ZWO mount has a metal shell (a Faraday cage), a WiFi radio in the mount body would not have worked anyway, for the same reason that the 2nd generation ASIAIR did not have a functional WiFi radio.
GPS is not present in the ZWO hand controller probably because of the cost (about $8 for the cheapest u-blox (Swiss) chip -- or possibly cheaper Chinese chips).
I just use a short USB cable to my RST-135 and do not use WiFi, nor the hand controller.
