Corsair, thank you. I have separate power supplies for all the accessories. Interestingly, whn I unplugged the USBh cable at the EAF and plugged it back again, the EAF reconnected without me having to do it via the Air. So perhaps that cable (came with the air) is bad, but that doesn't explain the main camera un-connecting once it had been connected. I guess the cheapest thing to do is replace all cables and see if the problem reoccurs.
If it turns out that the issue is with the Air, kit might be easier to buy a new one rather than go through ZWO warranty repair and wait 6 months for a replacement. I'm not sure why selling dealers don't accept returns and warranty items.
