Hi,
I am using the asi6200mm pro and polar alignment is much more cumbersome than it should be due to the long buffering time between each exposure during the all-sky polar alignment. I imagine this isn't an issue for smaller sensor sizes, but it takes like 10-15 seconds at least for each refresh on the 6200, and I often have to wait for two refreshes to happen since the image is taken right away while I'm still adjusting based on the last plate solve, so I have to wait for a the first image to buffer and solve, then have the air take a second image and solve before I can make further adjustments. Manually refreshing is also annoying and also takes at least 15 seconds each time I just want to check if my adjustments are close enough.
I would REALLY like the ability to bin (bin4) while doing polar alignment. I don't expect there is any real loss in accuracy for such a large sensor when binning. I imagine trying to do this with a medium format sensor would be an absolute nightmare. For those of us without an observatory or permanent pier, doing this every night is really annoying, and takes like 5-10 times as long as it should. It looks like there is some ability for the ASIAir to control this since there is a binning option on the PA screen, it's just greyed out.
Please add this feature into the next release!!
