Plate solving (which involves using positions of stars) are often confused by the very bright planets and its moons.
Just do a GOTO to a coordinate about a degree away from the planet.
Plate solve and sync the mount there (i.e., get the mount's position to be as accurate as possible near the planet but without including the planet in the plate).
After that, most mounts will be accurate enough that a simple GOTO that moves only a degree will center you right on the planet itself.
