Hello @Tech@ZWO , I have a really theoretical and experimental question pertaining to the possibility of monochrome-modding an ASI2400MC Pro (which does not have a monochrome version available), via removal of the CFA from the camera itself. (I know that'll void any warranties or whatnot, and I'd be on my own at that point if anything goes wrong, but that's not a problem.)
The camera software operates it as a color camera, but if modified to mono, would anything have to change within it to have the software operate as if it were never a color camera from the start, or would it be perfectly fine as is?
I know many stacking programs will automatically debayer the image, and you can get around that by undoing the debayerization in a 3rd party application.
