Did you perform a soft shutdown of ASIAIR before removing the microSD card or USB memory? Like all computing devices, the memory elements in ASIAIR must be unloaded in software before you can power the computer on or off. And only with power completely off, can you remove the physical memory.
Go to the ASIAIR's Setup window. There is a red slider switch way at the bottom right of the window, to soft power down the ASIAIR; this closes the files properly, if they had not been fully closed. When it has finished soft powering down (and closing the ASIAIR app on the tablet) you can then (1) remove power from ASIAIR. You should then only (2) remove memory when the ASIAIR has no power.
Try to not use the SD card as external storage. The ASIAIR uses a cheap connector for the microSD card (notice that it is not even spring loaded) that is not meant for too many ejection cycles. Use the microSD card just for firmware -- use an external USB device instead (even a solid state drive) for image storage. It is also best not to plug USB devices in and out of the ASIAIR. Add a hub (which you can replace cheaply if/when they finally fail). You can download images through the ASIAIR Samba server over USB, Ethernet (or USB-C connector in the newer ASIAIR models), without ever removing the USB storage.
