Soalr H-alpha with ASI 120MM-S

Here is my first result with the new 120MM USB3 camera and Lunt 152. I got 59 fps with the full chip and tooka 3000 frame videos. Processed in PIPP, Autostakkert and Photoshop CS4. Seeing not great but but a pretty good result. AR2106 etc is a 2 frame mosaic, AR 2107 is a single frame image.

I have connected the camera to Sharcap and made the 'capture filter' setting change, as suggested by Sam, to get a higher frame rate and reconnecting to Firecapture gave 77 fps! Hope to try this speed on the solar imaging tomorrow.

Very pleased with this camera.

did you notice any newton ring?

Hello Sam, sorry I only just saw your question. Yes, I do get Newtons rings with the camera and my Lunt 152. They seem most noticeable at f12 (with 2 x Barlow), but fortunately are easily removed with a flat frame - good practice anyway to remove dust shadows. I have attached pics of sun with rings, the flat frame and the corrected solar image.

Very happy with the camera.

Also attached a white light image which shows a great result from the camera.
