I am having issues with my new ASI2600MC Duo. After a couple of days of trying to shoot with the dual sensor ZWO I have had very little success. The root of my problem seems that I cannot download both cameras at the same time. I can have them both connected, but once I start looping PHD2, the main camera in NINA stops downloading with errors. I stop the PHD2 looping, and the main camera recovers. I thought it was my 30ft USB2 extension, but when I eliminated that cable (brought the laptop right up to the camera), it made no difference Then I tried a battery, as my adapter is rated at 2.5A and the camera requires 3A. That didn't work.
I have download the new ASCOM driver (18vs19) and reloaded the ASI camera driver. No success. The ASI Studio does not have any provisions for running both cameras at the same time, although I did try and run planetary on the guide camera and deep sky on the main camera, but with little success, I could not tell if anything was taking pictures or downloading. It would be nice if you had an app that could run both cameras for testing purposes only (diagnostics) to check communications and file saving.
All the programs are loaded on a brand new laptop with only astronomy apps, not even MS office. Just NINA, Pixinsight, ASI Studio, DSS, etc... So minimal clutter there.
At home I have a QHY main, a ZWO ASI120 guide camera, an Esatto focuser, and Onstep running on a USB3 hub over a USB2 30ft extension with no problems. So I know this type of set works with a USB2 cable in between.
Does anyone have any clues or a direction to go? FYI, disclosure, I have brought up this issue with ZWO support.
