Has anyone found a way to focus the camera using a PST, without using the barlow lens, which just decreases the FOV too much for me.
I have the Blue objective that has the mini-erf in the eyepiece spacer and cannot remove it.
The camera works fine with the barlow in the NP but the FOV is not what I want. I like to get as close to a "full disk" image if possible.
The NP does not hit the bottom of the eyepiece holder with the BF, so I don't think that a shorter NP will make any diff.
I was thinking of cutting of several mm from the EP holder and retapping a new thumbscrew.
Seems painless, but I don't know if it would work.
I have been reading about all the mods people do, some are pretty elaborate.
But I have not read one person doing what seems like a simple mod.
So I am concerned that something won't work by doing this.
Anyone know of any Solar experts I can reach?
