I have a Seestar S50 on order and would like to use it for observing and recording occultations. Ideally, when recording the occultation, a highly reliable fast frame rate is critical, with a GPS-generated date, time-stamp on each frame. Currently, to achieve an acceptable recording of an occupation a telescope, camera, GPS timestamp device, recorder, and power supply are needed. We often use pre-point and let the occultation event drift through the field of view while recording the event. It appears the S50 would be ideal for these types of events if a highly accurate timestamp could be captured on each frame of video. Great citizen science could be done with such an instrument.
