Hi, let me start by saying that this little smart telescope is really at a sweet spot. I was reluctant to invest in a much more expensive one compared to a real dedicated setup much more capable after some learning I was prepared to do. But Seestar50 was a no brainer to try and I am becoming addict to this little scope so you deserve a bravo.
That beeing said I have a proposal for an upgrade regarding framing.
Today the only way to secure the postprocessing of several nights of subframes is to ask Seestar to go to an object by name and let it plate solve and center according to the RA/DEC coordinates of the internal database.
If the framing is not ideal and if I change it just a little bit manually it becomes really difficult to reproduce this little adjustement and same framing from one night to the other. As a consequence, the new sub frames are often rejected. The solution would be to ask seestar to center the object according to the picture stacked from a previous night by choosing it from the application or according to some RA/Dec coordinates entered manually that I could easily retrieve either from the FIT header of the seestar picture of from the platesolver of my postprocessing software.
This "repeatable framing" feature could also benefit for those users simply relying on seestar as it could offer the possibility to restart stacking from a previous night and improve the result thanks to some additional stacking. The basic capabilities are all there in seestar, I am sure that it can do it so let's do it :-)
Thanks for reading and maybe selecting for a coming release.
