I am retired, and currently live out of Astro Jeep exploring the country. Tonight was bad weather so I decided to put my telescope inside my rooftop tent to run dark frames. To make my dark frames I had to select a target in order to set my plan to “Darks”, select the length of my exposure, gain, temperature, etc. When I tried to run my plan it told me to connect to my mount first. I then when to the mount page, and selected “none” for my mount. I then went back to my plan to run my dark frames, and again it required me to connect to my mount. Obviously, you don’t need a target, or be on a mount to run dark frames. Dark frames should be done when you cannot do light frames due to clouds, etc.
My request is to not be required to be connected to a mount, or select a target, when selecting “darks” as your plan. People could then run their darks anywhere to include inside their refrigerator if they wanted too.
Thank You,
Astro Jeep
