I am using the ASI 120 MM camera with an AT-66ED refractor piggybacked on my fork mounted vintage C8 to make patrol videos each clear night of the star SS CYG in hopes of making a movie showing the star rising from its normal quiet state to an outburst. Using Firecapture, I take 15 second exposures all night long-then view the approximately 2000 frames sped up into a 2 minute "movie". During one particularly clear night I noticed several faint fuzzy objects near the star which turned out to be 15th magnitude UGC galaxies! Each 15 second frame showed the galaxies but when imported into Registax and combining several hundred frames-the galaxies are plainly visible. This goes to show how sensitive and powerful the ASI camera is! I have enclosed the stacked image so users of this group can see the image. I really enjoy exploring the deep-sky capabilities of this "planetary" camera.
