I have an AVX mount with the latest firmware for mount and handset. I use a C8 SCT.
What is the main reason for mount disconnects? The error states "Please check the mount cable or network connection status.
If I pull the handset cable and the ASIAir App doesn't generate a mount disconnect error.
If I start a slew and hold down on the icon in the ASIAir App then pull the USB cable out of the hand set the mount continues to slew until I press the handset slew direction button that was used on the ASIAir App. If I start a RA slew I need to press the RA arrow on the handset to stop it. Pressing a DEC direction button on the handset doesn't stop the slew.
When the cable is pulled the ASIAir APP Mount Icon is still white. If you open it then the info page is blank. Connect the USB cable and the info page fills in and it shows connected.
So are mount disconnect errors more likely to occur because of the WIFI signal?. When I get a mount disconnect nothing else seems to be affected. The ASIAir is controlling cameras and other resources. I don't see the App loosing the connection.
I tried station mode. I have a Starlink system. It can produce 5g and 2.4g. I turned on the 2.4g on Starlink. My understanding is you connect the iPad to the 2.4g home network. On the ASIAir App you turn on Station Mode. It then scans for 2.4 WIFI. You selected it, put in the password and it connects to the 2.4. So now on the iPad you show you are on the 2.4 network and you just open the ASIAir app and it will connect. Isn't like the 5g where you choose the ASIAir app in the Wifi settings. You have a direct peer to peer connection.
So tonight I got a lot of mount disconnects. The telescope is about 60ft away outside. Everything seems to work fine inside on the APP except I get a lot of mount disconnects. I don't want to mess with ethernet.
I would love to have a ZWO engineer explain what conditions in the code generate this message.
Thanks.
