ASI120MC - Meshed Grid visible?

Hi,

I have recently received my new ZOW ASI120 MC camera and have already had great success with using it as a guide camera which is great news.

Last night I thought I would test it out with some lunar imaging.

I am fairly use to setting up my scope for Lunar imaging as I have a Neximage 5 as well.

The conditions for imaging were far from perfect but it really was only for testing so I carried on.

I went into Fire Capture v2.4 Beta.

Everything worked but I noticed when zooming down to the lower resolutions I can see a matrix / mesh with crosses on the imager. I assume this is the sensors Bayer Matrix?

I have included a screen shot. Is this normal, I didn’t get this with Neximage.

I also noticed on the video play back that colours namely green where seen scanning through the matrix.

All in all the quality was quite poor. I know this camera can produce some stunning images so I am a little lost as to what is going on.

this is because ASI camera output RAW data and you didn't enable debayer in FC

so you need to debayer in stack software

Hi Sam,

Ok so when I view or capture in RAW it is always going to look like this?

The meshing will disappear when I debayer in stacking software? It was late last night so have not tried a stack yet. :?

you can enable "debayer" when preview too

there is an "debayer" option in FC's UI

I think debayer is the most compicate concept for begginer

you will fully understand it sooner or later
