I have really enjoyed the first week of owning a Seestar. I am most interested in
using the S50 for photometry applications. I have found that it is fairly easy to generate lightcurves of bright objects ( mag 8-9) and I anticipate that maybe possible to record even dimmer targets.
Features that I think might be useful for photometry as well as other applications.
More user control- maybe under an advance features tab enable such things as:
taking flat field frames. ( Also taking more than one dark frame)
turn off dithering- for high precision photometry, this would be useful.
Add scripting capability so that images could be saved once per minute or some other defined interval.
Would it be possible to combine a group of sub exposures such that for example every 6 x 10s group of images are combined resulting in a 60s average image and so on?This way I could have 60 individual images of 60s averaged integration time for every hour instead of 360 ten second images.
The ability to goto a set of Ra/Dec coordinates.
Thanks.
btw- here is the result from 93 minutes of Seestar data while I was sleeping!
