Been having great success with the Seestar. I received it in early December before horizontal calibration was implemented and always made sure to have the Seestar leveled. My backyard has a lot of trees so I would move the scope around through the night to get visibility on various DSO’s (re-leveling each time) and it works great. With the new update, whenever I move the scope, it tries to do the calibration. In many cases, however, the sky is obstructed by tree limbs or homes and it often fails. It then continues to the image enhancement and works fine. Then if I slew to a different object it tries and fails again. It would be nice to be able to skip the horizontal calibration if the user knows it is going to fail based on not having enough unobstructed sky to complete the calibration.
