Hi
I'm new to Astrophotography and have been using my new ASI 120MC-S camera for lunar photography with my Celestron 6" SCT for a few weeks with some degree of success. I've been using Firecapture and saving in AVI format then aligning, stacking and processing in Registax. I think I've got the hang of creating and processing lunar and planetary images from video but I'm not sure how to capture images of Deep Sky Objects. Presumably I need to capture long-exposure still pictures before stacking etc. Can the ASI 120MC-S capture still pictures ? If so how do I capture subexposures in Firecapture ? Any assistance in the basic capture of DSOs using the ASI 120MC-S would be gratefully received.
Thanks
Pete
Hi Pete
its would be the same as moon
capture, save in avi, stack hundreds of them
but 16bit image can make a better result
