This would be an important feature!!
The Seestar could be used for variable star science a lot easier this way. I was able to do measurements of T CrB (the recurring nova that will almost certainly have a nova episode going from 10mag to ca 2 mag this year). You can get 0.01 mag photometric error with 10x10sec measurements, which is great, but I really cannot recommend this to newcomers because finding the target star is in general too error prone for newbies if you cannot enter coordinates!
(Yes, in the case of T CrB you can choose IC 4587, but sometimes there is no catalog object nearby. This is really annoying..)
