How to achieve Rough Focus

EDIT: To admins - I've put up the direct link to the videos themselves. They show how to use the ASIAIR to achieve a rough focus to get the focus close before heading into the evening. They are to help people who struggle to achieve focus at night. They are also not monetised in any way.

Okay. I've put together two videos - just screen recordings from my phone - that show what it should look like when doing a rough focus using landmark with a C8 SCT, f/6.3 Reducer, ASI294MC Pro cooled to 0°C, ASIAIR Plus (32GB), HEQ5 Pro Mount.

One video shows it being done at night and the other during the day.

Due to the weather being what it is - this has been done with my rig set up inside my house looking out a window. The object (a house) is approximately 1.34km away.

My solution to “rough” focus is take the time to focus with my Reducer/field flattener and again with the field flattener. Record the distance readout on the focuser for each, 16mm for Reducer/FF and 46mm for FF. After changing set proper rough distance and it’s always been close enough for PA. Then fine focus with Bahtinov mask for perfect focus. Works for me.
