ASIVideoStack stacking paused

I'm new to the software and while I'm waiting for my new camera to arrive, I thought I would stack an old and small (1.4 M) Jupiter video. When I initiate stack in ASIVideoStack the Stacking window opens up and reports
"Stacking 1/1 with 0% progress" after 15 minutes. In the upper lefthand corner of the ASIVideoStack window it shows (Pausing: with the name of the .avi video I'm trying to stack). What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

My old .avi files must have been corrupted, even though the videos played fine. I recreated .avi files from the original movie files and the new .avi converted files stacked with no issues.
