Dear Team S50,
First off, congratulations and a big Thank You for making such a wonderful product.
I would like to suggest a couple of features for this already awesome product:
Time based "Enhancement": There should be two timers after which the Enhancement should stop automatically and the S50 should shutdown. One timer for "Total enhancement time" i.e. total up-time after "Enhance" button is pressed. And another timer for "Effective enhancement time" i.e. time of successful enhancement data capture. This time shall not consider discarded / failed exposure times. Obviously the "Total enhancement time" shall be greater than or equal to "Effective enhancement time" and there should be an option to Shut Down S50 after either of the timer is reached.
Delayed imaging: I suggest a workflow automation / script for capturing DSO which are rising / becoming visible at late night. The workflow shall 'Check' if the positioning of the S50 is appropriate and the targeted DSO will be visible from that position beforehand.
The workflow shall consist of:
a) Name of the DSO
b) Start time of the acquisition
c) Timers as per the point #1 above.
d) Option to autofocus before imaging.
e) Option to shutdown after imaging.
For example:
a) The user shall be able to select a DSO for imaging.
b) He/She shall enter time to begin imaging.
c) S50 software will confirm if the DSO will be good visible in the sky or not.
d) The user checks an option “Autofocus before acquisition”?
e) The user enters “Total enhancement time” (Suggestion #1)
f) The user enters “Effective enhancement time” (Suggestion #1)
g) The user checks an option “Shutdown after acquisition”?
h) The user confirms all parameters.
i) S50 goes into wait mode
j) S50 wakes up at Time mentioned in step ‘b’, and performs tasks as defined in (a) to (g).
I hope you will find these suggestions useful and implement it into upcoming software versions.
