ASI2600MC Pro Extended FWC works great!

Did a quick test last night at gain -20 on my 2600 and it worked great with my fast f2.8 optics.
There was a half moon and I managed to get 90x120s subs without any filters at all on M78.
The increased read noise was tamed very well and the stars were not overly saturated at f2.8.
Overall I am happy with the results from just 3 hours of subs.
Stacked, gradient extraction and star removal in Siril and then just tweaked in LR. No fancy processing or colour corrections.

do you know if ZWO has updated graphs (or at least updated read noise data) for gain values below zero? i just received my 2600MC Pro and my first images were without filter at 0 gain (askar FRA400, Bortle 4 to 5) with subs at 150 sec. i'm trying to decide if i should reduce times or reduce gain ala your -20 value.

i apologize for additional post, i failed to mention that my interest in your negative gain value is because i was seeing some clipping at 150 seconds with 0 gain.

retman the manual will not get a change but you can look at the 2600mc duo manual for gain vs read noise values. While it shows -25 gain, I set my fast system at -20 gain where unity gain is reached. Sorry for the slow reply as I was in Cancun on vacation!
