I recently puzzled over the fact that from all my flatframes, my luminance was not calibrating the dust motes correctly. I noticed a slight shift or better rotation of the field resulting in bad embossed artifacts after calibration. Since all my other filters did not show this issue, I did not understand how this problem occurred. Until now.
Here's the deal: If you start your imaging session with the filter that is in the initial position, the ASIAIR will not reset this position (like a new goto to that filter) but use the as-is position. If you like me move the setup you might introduce bumps or shakes that might slightly rotate the wheel. If you then start your imaging with the exact same position, you will have a hard time re-using the flats you took.
ASIAIR should always rotate the wheel to the desired filter, even if it's already in position.
