VMWare Fusion - ASI120MC Capture Failed in FireCapture

Hello,

I read many reviews prior to buying the ASI120MC and other fusion users mentioned that the camera worked great within Fusion. I have not had such luck. When I install the drives and launch fire capture I receive the error "Capture Failed". Within the forms I read a post saying that the firmware needed to be upgraded to work in a VM. I have tried to download the ASI firmware upgrade tool and loaded but versions that came with the tool with no luck. I know the camera works because I can run fire capture on a standalone Dell. This however is not my normal imaging laptop and would like to use my MacBook Pro (OS 10.9.5) and Fusion running Windows 7 (64bit). I also tried sliding the USB speed all the way down to the lowest setting which was 44% and lowering the resolution from the maximum, none of these steps helped resolved my issue. Any help that you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated.

can you try native OS x app such like oacapture on your Mac book?

if it cannot show the image then there is no other way

we got such few feedback that they cannot use the camera under Mac

and its a pity that we cannot solve it

anyway our USB3.0 camera compatible well with Mac

For now I will just use a Dell laptop instead of my Mac. There is conflicting information out there on the net. I specifically purchased this camera because I read that it works good in VMWare Fusion. The camera does work good on the Dell so I will just stick with that for now.

I would recommend you use native windows on Mac though bootcamp instead of VMware

On the Mac, I tried Photobooth, and it would not recognize the camera there either.
Why can't ZWO supply the drivers with a 'Trusted Signature'? If I had that, it seems that the system would load the driver.

There are supposed to be multiple ways to disable driver signature enforcement in Windows 11, like under advanced options in the startup setting, accessing by holding the Shift key during restart. However, I can't get this to work properly in VMware Fusion - apparently no way to access the boot files once made.
Also, using the terminal window as administrator gives me an error - "removal of encryption is unavailable because this virtual machine is powered on. Encryption cannot be removed while the virtual TPM device is present. Remove the VTPM to continue."

What 's the error on you Mac? Could you take a screenshot and upload it while the camera is connected? When inserting the camera: Use “Console”: Open “Applications” -> ‘Utilities’ -> “Console” to view device drivers and system logs, which can help diagnose device issues. Check for new USB prompts, similar to the Device Manager in Windows systems.
