I'm a visual astronomer. With my longer scopes I set an elevation limit of say 70 degrees to stop the scope hitting the mount. However, if I then return the mount to home, the first thing it does is elevate to 90 degrees before returning to home. This crashes the scope. Very annoying. Why does the mount do this and can it be stopped? And yes I do realise that I could remove the scope before homing but this involes a trip out to the scope.
