I am planning on doing just that. I have had mine track the Sun all afternoon. I have installed the solar filter verrry gently and started a Sun video. After 10 minutes I removed the filter while holding an umbrella to shield the Seestar. A few minutes later I reinstalled the filter as gently. The Sun was slightly shifted but still completely in frame. What I don’t know and haven’t figured out how to find out, is whether or not the exposure will adjust well enough. I really don’t want to be doing much fussing with manual exposure instead of enjoying the eclipse. However, I’m pretty sure that the Sun, even through the filter, is still a bunch brighter than the totally eclipsed Sun. During the dark of totality, with the filter removed, I expect the image to be underexposed, not overexposed. Overexposed would only happen if the Seestar adjusted too much to the darkness, and that ain’t likely. I guess I will find out!
