I did the extensive test of the latest ascom driver and mount firmware to investigate what is wrong with the altitude limit. I find that the lower altitude limit works fine but the upper limit, which is very important for preventing pier collision, does not work as it should be. The current algorithm works as the first figure. The mount LITERALLY uses the altitude in the alt az coordiate for checking the upper limit. But what 99.99% of mounts do is on the 2nd figure. The upper limit should be referenced to the meridian. The red zone is the NO GO zone.
