First of all, I have to praise the ASIAIR and say how much I enjoy working with it and how easy it is. Polar Alignment, Autorun or Plan Mode, Meridian Flip. All great.
What I don't like is the way Calibration Frames are supposed to be captured. Currently, I create an Autorun plan that takes Lights. When I eventually finish and want to take Flats, it gets very weird. I have to reset the plan and create a new plan with "Flats". For each filter, I have to set up a separate step. I also work with Flatdarks. I then have to figure out the exposure time of the Flats to manually set it for the Flatdarks.
Calibration Frames are so crucial for the final result that I wonder why there is no assistant for this. Especially at the end of the night, when you are almost dying of fatigue and still have to take Flats, it would be nice if some of the work was taken off your hands and you only received instructions like "Cover your scope now" etc.
What is the current workflow for this? I find it very clunky and exhausting the way I do it.
