I just received an AM3 and the mount body is noticeably warm to the touch after a short period of use. My AM5 doesn't have this issue. Could there be a problem with my AM3?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I measured the current draw of the mount under no-load conditions and the mount draws 1.2A while tracking. This is twice that of the current draw reported by ZWO. Is my mount faulty?

Acheechi hello, do you have any updates from support? I have the same issues with am3 - warming and high power consumption. But it works well, guiding is about 0.4 with 8kg load.
deadshad I am still waiting for a reply from their engineers.
My AM3 warms also up. I believe it’s normal. The tiny motors have to work a lot more compared to the AM5.
