Yesterday night I had for the first time problems with the goto recenter of Asiair (plus) when going to the object in subject.
Plate solving would succeed at the first centered check, and correctly detect a little mis-alignment; but once it got close to center on NGC5907, then plate solving would consistently fail - no matter the exposure time I tried using.
The number of detected stars seemed quite healthy (>40 with 2s exposure, >100 with 5s), but Asiair would still try plate solving for 90 seconds or so, and eventually fail.
Granted, I work with a big focal length (2,000mm), and a smallish sensor (ASI533), but this is the first time I have had this problem with the same setup. On the same night I was not able to reproduce the issue outside of the immediate surroundings of NGC5907.
Eventually I just gave up and disabled goto-recenter for the session (and that setting, btw, doesn't seem to be honored when running a plan - it looks like plans will always try doing a goto-recenter no matter what the global setting is).
Has anyone else seen this issue? Suggestions?
