NGC2158 (part of M35) and NGC2903

NGC2158 (faint, dense cluster within M35) and NGC2903 (spiral galaxy in Leo) captured with 40cm reflector, P8079HP ex-military 3-stage gen 1 image intensifier, and uncooled ASI120MM camera. 100 frames of 0.25 second, running average over 3 frames (old * 0.66 + new * 0.33) then processed with Registax 6.

Yes Sam. I'm using the fisheye lens supplied with the camera for eyepiece projection of the intensifier screen while I'm waiting for some better lenses and a T2 - CS adapter to arrive. There will always be distortion around the edges of the intensifier screen but the centre looks pin-sharp visually so my pics should improve a lot if the lenses are a better match. I've also tried the lens off a webcam in the meantime but that has asymmetrical distortion. If anyone knows of any recommended lenses for afocal photography (eyepiece projection + camera lens, the camera seeing exactly what the eye sees) I'd be interested.
