aruckle Is there any other suggestions you can suggest that would improve the image transmission speed from the ASIAir to the iPad?
Connect the ASIAIR to your home network using a good Ethernet cable (CAT6 or better will work fine). Do not use flat ribbon cables if the cable is going to touch walls or the ground. Use good fat shielded cables in those cases.
When transferring image data to my Mac (which is on the same Ethernet switch as the ASIAIR), I see 800 Mbits/sec type transfer speeds from ASIAIR's Samba server.
It also depends on the speed of the storage on ASIAIR. I use a Samsung T7 with my ASIAIR.
If you cannot for some reason use an Ethernet cable to the house, at least tie the ASIAIR using Ethernet to a good 5GHz travel router like the GL.net's BerylAX or Opal (cheaper than Beryl, and probably maxes out an ASIAIR already) that does not move thoughout the night. And then connect the travel router to the home network through WiFi. Do not use the cheaper N300 travel routers. If you can, use a cable that is long enough to stay as far from the neighbors as possible. Use a WiFi tool to find out which WiFi channels are congested, and pick a more noise free channel for the travel router and home network. Most devices, like the ASIAIR, default to the same congested channel, and your neighbors may be as stupid as ZWO, and left their network at the same default -- allowing you to find non-congested channels.
If you use a 5V PoE injector/extractor for one of these travel routers, you can also supply 5V to them through the Ethernet cable themselves.
Alternately, if you have a mesh network for home, install a mesh node at the telescope. And again, use Ethernet to connect the ASIAIR to this node. Don't do this on an eero network, since eero (used to, at least) dislikes it when a node is taken offline when you are not using ASIAIR (ask me how I know :-) -- everything goes nuts while it is reassigning paths.
If you notice a common thread in the above solutions, it is to avoid using ASIAIR's WiFi, and avoid having the WiFi antenna move around over the course of the night in case you have the ASIAIR strapped to an OTA. Do not place a travel router on the OTA, or you will have the same problem.
