I'm having a problem with Station Mode on my ASIAir Plus
Using latest ASIAir firmware & Android App versions
I do the following to get Station Mode working.
- Connect my AA to my home network with an ethernet cable.
- Turn on the AA.
- Start the App on my Samsung Tablet. The app correctly finds the AA. Hit 'Enter' and it logs in.
- Select the ASiAir config section - this shows Station Mode as Off and and a manually entered IP for the Wired Ethernet
- Turn on Station Mode and it shows available 2.4Ghz WiFi connections.
- Select the one l want, enter the credentials and it connects OK, gets an IP address and l can see the connection on my WAP.
- I can now ping both IP addresses - the ethernet connection and the WiFi.
- If l then unplug the ethernet cable i can no longer ping the WiFi IP address. Plug the cable back in and l can ping it again.
- If l unplug the ethernet cable, close the app on my Android tablet and restart it the app it will find the ASIAir and connect OK. It shows no ethernet connection (to be expected; the ethernet cable is not connected) and Station Mode is active.
If I restart the ASIAir then the Station Mode Connection is not persistent and l can no longer ping the WiFi IP address - the only way to reconnect is plug the ethernet cable back in but it still shows Station Mode as active.
Is this normal behaviour? Do l have to go through this process everytime l want to use Station Mode?
