Unusual Mount behavior with latest firmware

Hi,

maybe someone of you has an idea what is going on with my AM5.

After I updated to the latest firmware (1.5.2) my AM5 sometimes stops while slewing with two beeps. It it does not matter matter which software started the slewing process. I use NINA for imaging, but it also happened while using the ASI Mount software.
Tracking seems to work fine but going to a target, a meridian flip or a simple go to home position can randomly stop the mount. I can repeat the slewing command and the mount will finish the slewing process but for unintended operation this is not usable anymore.

I did not change any software configuration, I only updated the firmware. I did not have this behavior with the old firmware (1.3.7).

Maybe someone has an idea or ZWO can provide the old firmware, so I can downgrade if possible.

I experienced exactly same behaviour over last two nights,
1> mount stopped when plan ended and it was set to go to park position - it beeped twice and then I needed to click start again for the park position and it completed .
2> The mount was executing an automatic meridian flip and stopped with two beeps - it then tried to plate solve for target and actually reported target centred (which is clearly was not ) and so I stopped the plan and parked the mount manually.

Its very annoying and as WernerM says above - has anyone else seen this error and is it related to new firmware as I operated teh same setup , mount/Telescope./Camera with no issues all last winter with no issues ...

Hello everyone,

I had some cleare nights and could do some testing. After switiching USB cables and USB Ports witch did not fixed the problem, I downgraded the Firmware of the Mount back to 1.3.0 Beta, the only one I could get my hands on, bebause ZWO does not provide older Firmware Versions and it fixed the problem.
So I hope ZWO looks into this issue, because with the new firmware, I can not leave the mount unattended. Would be nice if in the meentime ZWO can provide Version 1.3.7 for people with this problem.

So sorry for your bad user experience. AM RA axis has 30s time limit and DEC axis has 60s time limit when slewing. ZWO will cancel the time limit in next firmware version.Thanks for your patience.

Hello ZWO,

thank you for looking into this problem. Maybe you can put the time limit function into the driver as an option, so the user can configure it if necessary. For some users this may be a practical feature.
By the way, if you could put a firmware change log on your website, this would be much appreciated. 🙂

I'm having the same issue with the newest of my AM5 mounts (I own two of them). Both of them have the latest firmware, but only one is behaving like this. I only experience this issue when going to the Home position, but i haven't tried a meridian flip yet on the new one.

I expierence something similar with my AM3 on ASIAIR.
Failed Meridian Flip, failed goto park after sequence complete.

I am a ASIAIR user from almost the beginning. I wonder why strange bigs keep being introduced and not properly fixed anymore.

Currently a Session has become so unteliable I set alarm clocks on anticipated AMF or object switching times.

Error reports send multiple times.
