Last disk processing of 19/02/2015 Sun. Rotation with Sun N at top.
PV fluorite 102/900, Coronado SM90+BF30, ASI174MM
4/5 of the Sun is visible on the sensor (see contrast enhenced plane transit and original B&W single frames joined).
Camera turned at 90° from normal to use AD @ guiding speed (instead of DEC moves) for covering the whole Sun with wide margins by vertical translation during the exposure which is stopped just after.
PC : i7 950 @ 3.95 GHz, Win7X64, 18GB RAM then recording on a 14GB RAM disk for fastest speed. After each capture, quasi full RAM disk content is moved on HDD.
Processing : AS!2 2.5.1.6Beta surface extend mode & 100 AP size, Wx, color, cropping and rotation GIMP2
Result is superior to PST captures using the same technique. Remember that the Sun is still very low in the sky ! Better resolution should be achieved in Summer !
