Ive only used the S50 twice and everything was good, got the fits files and some nice pictures. But last night the photo process stopped two different times at about 5 or so minutes. The camera said it was initializing so I assumed it was working. I turned off the camera, and restarted on another object, and it happened a second time. I turn off the camera to save my battery and waited for M31 to come into view, I began the photo process on M31 and after a bit of time the camera timed out again and completely shut down. I restarted the camera and reattempted to photograph m31. Again the camera locked up and looking at my tablet screen instead of being centered M31 was partially visible at the bottom of the screen. This I assumed the problem was the battery. This ended my night. The next morning I checked my tablet to find that I had a good picture of M31,and everything good was good so I thought. I linked the Seestar to my computer and got a message telling me my computer couldn't access the D drive and that I needed to format the disk. I didn't format the drive fearing that doing so would erase everything on the disk. I can't get to my files to see if anything I did last night was captured.
What has happened?
