What role does Bluetooth play?

Hi, A new user of Seestar S50. Two questions

1 How and for what is Bluetooth connectivity used? In the presence of wifi (2.4 and 5G) us it not superfluous?
2 Can you confirm the S50 does not have a built-in GPS but uses the location info from the phone/tablet?

Yes but alternatively you can enter your coordinates manually of no GPS on your device available, eg Amazon fire tablet

Thanks, Xfirf. I would like to understand the "more easily" bit. You are correct; the first connection is Bluetooth and then wifi. The manual (https://i.seestar.com/owe__prod/static/manuals/SeestarManualEN.pdf) does not say much more than that. I am just curious - I simply don't understand this process. Surly a direct wifi connection would suffice these days.

The wifi-credentials will be sent to the device via bluetooth. For example when you want to use the S50 in stationary-mode it needs the credentials of your personal wifi.
Or if you change the wifi-password of the device this will be sent / reseted via bluetooth.

Hi, thank you “xfirf” for your reply.
Seestar's Bluetooth can only be used for activating and discovering WiFi, it can't control the device directly, you can use it by connecting Seestar's WiFi directly.
Seestar doesn't have built-in GPS, it gets its location by reading your phone's GPS. You can also enter the coordinates manually.
