I just got a Seestar and so far it doesn't seem to be able to get within few degrees like a real goto does. If the level is within 0.2 or 0.3 and the compass is calibrated (something it should be able to do itself by spinning!) when you tell it to go to a target like the Moon, it should be pointing in the general direction regardless of whether it can see the moon clearly or not. On the first few uses where it started where it was pointed was 15-20 degrees off on both axis. It knows where it is from the phone's GPS so it should be able to point to within a few degrees, not soley rely on plate solving. On only one occasion so far I was able to get some pictures of the Sun after leveling, calibrating compass and leveling again about 4 times. Could not find the Moon during the day like some of the pictures I've seen posted either.
I'm not really sure why the compass needs to be calibrated each time you turn it on if you are using it at the same location it was last calibrated at.
Also, a plastic or rubber lens cap should have been included from the factory to protect from dust.
