So I've had the AM5 for a few months and have been loving it paired with the ASIAIR, a ZWO 30mm guidescope with a ASI120MM camera and then using either a Nexstar 5SE OTA or a canon 70-200mm paired with the ASI533. RMS started out around 0.5 but after a week or two it drifted up to 1-1.2 and has stayed pretty consistent around there. Well, a few nights back a firmware update was pushed and installed and now I can't track or guide. At all.
I'm leveled, polar aligned well, sidereal tracking is on, can go to any target and solve, then I calibrate guiding going towards the south near the meridian and that is where it falls apart... The stars quickly drift up so that they're visible above the circles in the east/west calibration. Then when that is done, it clears backlash for something like 40+ steps before starting north/south calibration. Even test shots of 10 seconds show significant star trails at 950mm. I've tried calibrating near my target, no better. It just refuses to track or guide.
I'm at a loss for what to do, 5 nights ago I got a fantastic image of the helix nebula and now I can't do a thing. I've taken the whole setup down, checked all my connections and put it all together again and get the same result. My best result for guiding was an RMS of over 40 - and that is if it works at all.
Any suggestions for what to try? Are there known issues from the firmware update? Help!!!
