Hello,
I am not too sure where I have some issues, but have been trying to image Jupiter a few times now using thr ZWO ASI034 camera.
I have tried different methods and all give just about the same results, I tried through the back of the telescope through the diagonal eyepiece projection, with and without Barlow lens. Sharpcap, Fire capture. different editing methods after different stacking methods, tried registax 5, 6 and AS2. everything gives a similar result in the end. Oh and tried with debeyer turned on and off and has no drastic change.
The images I have posted are the best ones I have managed in quite many hours of trying. some of the worse images the whole planet is just covered in squares, is it just because its a low resolution camera? I have seen quite a few peoples images with this camera and they are great, I have even seen someone using the same setup as me and I did not notice these squares.
The tiff image was right out of AS2 no editing 1 minute long but the PS.JPG was edited to try to hide most of these squares 30 secnds long.
The place I purchased from said its an issue with not a powerful enough telescope. Ok its a 4 inch mak not great but I have seen other image with this and they were fine.
Also someone said my exposure times where too short, they are but only because if I take it up to 2 minutes the problem gets worse.
As I don't know where I am having the problem I don't know how to fix it and its now becoming Summer so apart from using the Sun which I prefer my dslr for I have have to wait for the winter to come again. Also when I tried to image the moon just before dark it was aweful how dirty the camera or telescope was. Which I guess camera as the telescope had recently been in to be cleaned and I have not had this issue with any other cameras. (Had wondered was it a testing model)
Maybe I should have spent the extra for the ASI120 but its too late now. Trying to find tips online for the camera I own has not been easy and I am out of ideas now on how to get any use out of it. Maybe its just because it was an entry level one, I was not expecting amazing imaged from it any way but I was expecting to actually get something that was not covered in squares, and to hide them just makes the image look dull and blurred.
Thank you and hope someone might have an idea what I have been doing wrong.
