FIRECAPTURE - CONFIGURATION FOR DEEP SKY

I have been using my ASI120MC for planetary and it was great

Now, I want to start to use it FOR DEEP SKY

I just need to know what format should be use for capture.

AVI, SER, BMP or FIT ????

For example for planeatary I always use AVIs and 2000 or 3000 frames (with proper exp and gain)

I have an idea about what to do with exp, gain,..., etc but I have no idea about format.

Could you please help me with this ???

1-few seconds, not very high gain, few hundreds or thousands of frames. FITS if you want to process it in DS software like Nebulosity. SER/AVI if in "planetary". Flat and dark frames, maybe even bias frame. Quality may be limited so pick surface bright objects like star clusters or some planetary nebulae.
